DOROTHY'S BIO

For over 30 years, Dorothy has been a steadfast advocate for families and children in underserved communities, championing access to academic, economic, and healthcare opportunities. As the Executive Director of Talbot County Family Connection, she led initiatives to improve the quality of life for rural residents, earning recognition in 2014 as one of rural Georgia’s most influential leaders. In 2023, she founded the Talbot Center for Rural Studies, where she continues to advocate for the needs of Rural Americans. As a licensed Georgia dispute mediator, Dorothy brings expertise in conflict resolution to her work. She serves on the Board of Directors of Valley Healthcare Systems, where she is a powerful voice for affordable healthcare access for vulnerable rural residents. A founding member of She Leads Georgia and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Dorothy remains dedicated to empowering communities and driving positive change.
