Dee Dee Bass Wilbon is a dynamic communications strategist and a founding partner at Bass Public Affairs, where she channels over 25 years of corporate and media expertise into shaping impactful narratives. Known for her sharp political insights and authentic storytelling, Dee Dee has become a trusted voice for community organizations, business leaders, entertainers, and elected officials, delivering messaging that resonates across diverse audiences.
Dee Dee’s career began in corporate America, where she spent a decade earning accolades such as the prestigious Young Achievers Award at MBNA, once the world’s largest issuer of credit cards. Her commitment to corporate responsibility shone through in her leadership of a company-wide mentoring program, fostering long-term relationships between MBNA and Delaware public schools, for which she received the MBNA Community Service Award.
As a media consultant, Dee Dee has served as a spokeswoman and ghostwriter, managing owned and earned media for a wide range of clients. Her work has been featured in national and international media outlets, where her political acumen and ability to craft compelling narratives have earned her widespread recognition. At Bass Public Affairs, she co-hosts Policy and Pound Cake and serves as the features editor of BPA LiveWire, amplifying stories that matter.
A proud graduate of Fisk University, Dee Dee’s commitment to community is unwavering. She has served on the Boards of Read Aloud Delaware, the State Financial Officers Foundation and the Women’s Public Leadership Network. She is an active member of the Prince George’s County Maryland Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, as well as a Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Dee Dee and her husband Brian Wilbon live in southern Maryland with their children.
