Thousands To Gather In Central Park For Annual UAE Healthy Kidney 10K



NEW YORK CITY, NY - The 15th annual UAE Healthy Kidney 10K is organized by the New York Road Runner and the Zayed Marathon Organizing Committee from the United Arab Emirates chaired by General Mohammed Al Kaabi (retd), with the support of the Al Habtoor Group from Dubai, UAE, to benefit the National Kidney Foundation. The race honors the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder and first president of the United Arab Emirates. Sheikh Zayed was treated for kidney disease in the United States, and benefited from the expertise, knowledge and professionalism of U.S. institutions and doctors. The UAE Healthy Kidney 10K supports efforts to promote education and awareness of kidney health and kidney disease What: UAE Healthy Kidney 10K Who: Runners of Note Include: • Defending women's champion Buze Diriba (Ethiopia) • 2018 men's runner-up Mathew Kimeli (Kenya) • 2018 B.A.A. 10K and Utica Boilermaker 15K champion Gabriel Geay (Tanzania) • Two-time world championships silver medalist Senbere Teferi • 2017 and 2018 UAE Health Kidney 10K third-place finisher Monicah Ngige (Kenya) When: 9:00 a.m. Sunday, April 28, 2019 Where: New York Central Park The race will begin on East Drive near 69th Street and will loop through Central Park before finishing at the 72nd Street Transverse.
