In the fall, my 15-year-old son will enter his sophomore year of high school and officially embark on the college search season. I knew that front and center on the college search list would be location, cost and curriculum. It never occurred to me until recently that we would also have to consider freedom of expression and diversity of thought. The irony, of course, is that college should be the breeding ground for freedom of expression and diversity of thought.
