Black Community Biden: We have no permanent friends, no permanent enemies - just permanent interests
WASHINGTON, June 16, 2022 /BPALiveWire/ Based on recent polls from Reuters, Politico and The Economist, President Biden's approval ratings continue to plummet. The most alarming numbers come from the Democrat's most reliable voting block, African Americans.
Dr. Christopher Metzler, a Republican strategist and author of Divided We Stand: The Search for America's Soul: Congressman William Lacy Clay, one of the founding members of the Congressional Black Caucus, famously said, 'We have no permanent friends, no permanent enemies—just permanent interests.' As gas prices soar, wages remain stagnant and no clear plan to tackle inflation,
Black Americans are looking out for their best interests, which is why we're seeing low support for the Biden Administration.
According to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, if the midterms were held today, only fifty-nine percent of Black voters would vote Democrat. Republicans would earn twenty-six percent of the Black vote. It is almost impossible for Democrats to chart a path to significant midterm victories that does not include strong support from the Black community.
The first point on the Biden Lift Every Voice Plan for African Americans was to "advance the economic mobility of African Americans and close the racial wealth and income gaps."
In a speech to union workers in Philadelphia, when President Biden was not blaming Putin for inflation, he blamed Republicans. "The problem is Republicans in Congress are doing everything they can to stop my plans to bring down costs on ordinary families. That's why my plan is not finished and why the results aren't finished either."
Dee Dee Bass Wilbon, small business owner and co-host of Policy and Pound Cake: The economic uncertainty that Americans are experiencing is real. I am rooting for America, so I hope the Biden Administration will course correct and take responsibility. Because, when families are paying over five dollars a gallon for gas, all this pointing fingers is not helping.
